At a young age, he left the religious lifestyle and moved to Jerusalem to live with his grandmother. At age 17, he began writing and composing songs. During his military service, although selected for a military band, he chose to serve at a regular based in Tel Aviv. In this period, he recorded an album along with Shay Sa’adia, a Jerusalem-based musical producer. From this album came his first single, “Cakes”. In 2011, he auditioned for “A Star is Born”, was selected for the show, and eventually came in second place. Among the covers he performed on the show: Mati Caspi’s “She’s Become Religious”, Danny Robas’ “Names and Faces”, Rona Keinan’s “Downpour”, and more. Many of his covers received the judges’ praise. In addition, David is currently on tour with Hagit Yasu and Liron Ramati, performing a variety of songs from the show.
