Diana Golbi

Diana Golbi was born Diana Golobnov in Moscow, the only child of Yanna and Igor Golobnov.

At age 4 she immigrated to Holon, Israel, where she was raised.

During childhood, she studied acting at an American studio and performed at a theater in St. Petersburg. For a brief period, she played soccer on a girls’ team in Petach Tikva, coached by her father, but eventually chose to focus on music.

In the past she was soloist of a band named “The Russians”.

In 2009, she auditioned for “A Star is Born”, and was selected for the show.

Among other songs, she performed covers for Rita’s “Crying”, Keren Peles’ “Downpour”, Sarit Hadad’s “Party”, Arik Einstein’s “Children of Life”, and Aviv Gefen’s “Empty at Home”, along with Gefen himself.

In September 2010, she won first place in the finals, and Idan Amedi came in second.

At the end of September 2010 she released her debut album “Diana Golbi – Greatest Moments”, including a variety of songs she performed on the show. Among other achievements, she starred in the Festigal, directed by Hanoch Rosen, recorded the song “Your Way” along with Idan Amedi, who also wrote the song.

In February 2011, Diana was recruited to the IDF.

In May 2011, she released her first single, “Sit and Wait”.

In December of 2011, Diana will premiere her first acoustic concert tour.

Diana is currently working on a debut album, produced by Louie Lahav, to be released in the coming year.
