Idan Amedi was born on February 2, 1988, and began his professional music career when, still as a soldier in uniform, he auditioned for the eighth season of “A Star is Born” with the song “Soldiers’ Pain”, a song he wrote about his experiences as a combat soldier in the IDF.

Idan was secleted for the show and performed several popular favorites along with his own original songs (“Soldiers’ Pain”, and “Now”). Idan reached the finals and won second place.

At the end of the season, “Soldiers’ Pain” was released as a single for the radio, topping all charts and getting millions of hits on YouTube.
In January 2011, Amedi released his second single from his debut album, “Tashlich”. The song immediately topped the charts and was played successfully on all radio stations.

In February 2011, Amedi wrote and composed the auditions song for the ninth season of “A Star is Born”, “Your Way”. He performed the song along with the winner of season 8, Diana Golbi.

In May 2011, Idan participated in Galatz’s project “We’ll Soon Become a Song”. He received a stack of letters written by a soldier who died in the Lebanon War to his beloved, where he writes of his longing, his pain, and how much he loves her and his family. Idan wrote the song “The Last Letter” based entirely on quotes from those letters.

In June 2011, Idan released his third single, “Running Towards the Light”, from his debut album. The song broke the weekly playing record and topped the charts for months.

In July 2011, Idan participated in the project “Two Sides to Every Coin”, where he performed a cover of Zohar Argov’s song “As of Today”.

In August 2011, Idan released another ballad from his debut album, “To You”. The song was very successful and spent several weeks at the top of the charts.

Idan Amedi’s debut album was released on September 4, 2011, and contains 11 songs, all written and composed by Idan.
At the end of the Hebrew year, he was named “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” and “Song of the Year” by almost all Israeli radio stations.
