Ninet was born on October 21, 1983, in Kiryat Gat.

Ninet has lived music since childhood, participating in many ceremonies and several competitions.
In 2000, Ninet won first place at a young talent show on Israeli Educational TV “Voices and Sounds”, and third place in the competition “The Next King” held by Yes.
In 2003, at age 19, Ninet auditioned for the first season of the reality show “A Star is Born” and won first place after singing Zohar Argov’s immortal song “A Sea of Tears” in the finals.

In March 2004, Ninet made her television debut in a starring role on Yes’ musical drama “Our Song”. She played a character based upon her own story, named Ninet Levi, who is surprisingly chosen to study music at the Academy and enters the tumultuous world of show business. In addition, Tayeb sang the series’ theme song, “Soon”, written by Barak Feldman and composed by Yoni Bloch. The series was very successful, and Tayev achieved further popularity. In the series she performed several original songs, among them “Meanwhile”, which she co-wrote with her co-star Ran Danker, and “The Light in my Life”, written by Sa’ar Badishi.

Ninet starred in “Our Song” for four seasons, and won “Actress of the Year” in 2004 for her role.

In 2004 she recorded the theme song for Avi Nesher’s film “Left at the End of the World”.

In 2006, she released her first single, “When you’re here”, from her debut album “Barefoot”, produced by Aviv Gefen. The single received wide media coverage and great success on radio stations. In September of that year, the full album was released, selling 20,000 in a day and receiving gold status.
Along with the first single, other successful tracks were “Everything can happen”, “She Knows”, “If you Come”, and “Barefoot”.
In the summer of 2007 Ninet went on her first concert tour, performing “Barefoot” nationwide. That year, she was also named Female Singer of the Year at the Israeli music channel awards.

In 2008, she recorded a cover of Ilan Wirzberg’s “I couldn’t do a thing” for the completion “Hebrew Work 2”.
She also participated in Amir Zoref and Elad’s “Project 30”, recording a duet with singer Yaheli Sobol, entitled “you’ve got nothing to lose”.
That year, Ninet participated in the Israeli Children’s Song Festival, under the musical direction of Yehudit Ravitz. There she performed her own original song “Night, Night”. That year, she also recorded the song “Lonely” for Arcadi Duchin’s project “Daily Song”.

In 2007 she made her cinematic debut in Danny Lerner’s “Walls”, alongside international film star Olga Korilenko (of the James Bond films), where she played Elinor, a battered woman.

The film premiered in 2009 and was chosen to represent Israeli at the Toronto Film Festival. She wrote and performed the song “Friend” for the film.

In 2009, Ninet was also selected to represent Israel at the MTV Music Awards in the category of Best European Act, and was invited to the ceremony in Berlin, Germany.

In 2009, she released “If I Go”, the first single from her second album. In November 2009 the album “Communicative” was released, written, composed, and produced by Tayeb along with Baruch Ben Itzhak and Mark Lazar of the band “Roquefort”. Additional singles from the album were “Talking”, “The Bride”, “Maybe on the Holidays”, and “Yakinton”. The album received wide critical acclaim.

In 2010, she went on tour with “Communicative”, and later that year put on an acoustic performance with Baruch Ben Itzhak and Maya Belzitzman. Both concert tours are still running to great success all over Israel.

Since February 2010, Ninet also edits and hosts a weekly 2-hour radio show called “Panda Nagana” on Radio 88 FM, Sundays from 23:00 to 01:00.

In April 2010, the musical “Spring Awakening” premiered at Bet Lesin Theater, starring Ninet as Vandela. The musical was translated by Daniel Efrat, and performed at the Israeli theater after great global success.
